Autopsy for Mayor Chokwe Lumumba

In the Service of our Ancestors and African Love,
Listen Seeker, I come in peace,

“Mayor Chokwe Lumumba was also an international figure.  He was a “Garveyite” and he practiced “Pan-Africanism”.  His campaign motto was:  “One City, One Aim, One Destiny”.”  — Alton H. Maddox, Jr.

The Principle precept of Organization is Mutual Responsibility.  When an African passes from this plane, that African passes into the next, continuing their responsibility to our Race.  Both Malcolm X’s grandson and Chokwe Lumumba are being responsible to us; but with the opportunity to be responsible to them, many of us, as Garvey said, “mistake lip-service and noise for bravery and service.”  In two days, Chokwe Lumumba will have a homegoing service.  If we can, we can make new connections there or we can send others to make new connections there.  Yet, little should stop us from donating to the autopsy.  Last year, when Malcolm Shabazz died, as with other tragic circumstances, our actions were not proportional to our professed interest.  This needs to end.

We’re all going to pass from this Earth.  Myself included.  We can get the truth out or not.  Here’s our opportunity.  Please keep connected in the remaining time we have on this plane.  We need each other.  We need to show one another that we are Responsible for our Siblings.  “We must not mistake lip-service and noise for bravery and service.”

“Despite the state coroner refusing to conduct an autopsy, the family is raising funds to secure a private autopsy. If you have a PayPal account, you can log in and enter the email address for the National Conference of Black Lawyers, who is collecting the funds for the family. The email is ncbl1968@gmail.com Time is really of the essence. Thank you.”

The Coroner DID NOT order an autospy on our beloved brother Mayor Chokwe Lumumba. This raises much concern. The family wishes to pursue an independent autospy. Funds will be needed to have this done. If you want to make a donation, please make check or money order payable to:
National Conference of Black Lawyers
PO Box 240583
Borough Hall, New York 11424
Please put in the memo area: Chokwe Opio Lumumba Sokoni
The family appreciates your generosity very much.

FYI – I have called on the office of Congressman John Conyers to conduct an independent investigation into the death. Mr. Conyers was a personal friend of Chokwe’s.

  1. I read that Farrakhan offered to pay the entire bill. At any rate, this is an honorable way to spend money. It is good they have a paypal account. It makes things much easier.

    1. Peace Queen-Mother,

I read that as well. But as Garvey said, “We must not mistake lip-service and noise for bravery and service.” It’s one thing to say Farrakhan “did” and another thing to say Farrakhan “said.” I think he would, but until he does it, it should not be news in our community.

  2. My young nephew who is a college student shared this link from my facebook with his friends on facebook. It surprised me because I thought when I got the e-mail that he had shared a link from my facebook, I thought it might be the one I linked about 2-Pac Shakur’s relationship with Chokwe Lumumba, for obvious reasons. I was pleasantly surprised.

    1. Peace,

He has a good head. As of March 24th, 17 days later, Chokwe Lumumba’s death has fell from the African discussion circuit. Chokwe was devoted to the African Race since he heard of Emmett Till. So many decades of struggle forgotten in less than twenty days.

There’s yet to be word from Farrakhan on his promise to fund the autopsy.

Please ask any questions that come to mind
